Guide
Photos are personal. Here is what to look for before you let any cleaner near them, and how ours handles it.
Your photo library holds faces, places, documents and moments from your private life. Handing it to an unknown service is a real decision, and it is sensible to ask what happens to your pictures before you click anything.
Ask first whether your photos leave your device. Some services upload them to be analysed on their servers, which means a copy exists somewhere else. Ask what is kept afterwards, for how long and who can see it. Ask whether you need an account, and what permissions the service wants.
A trustworthy service answers these plainly on its own pages. If you cannot find clear answers, treat that as a warning sign.
Yolo Storage Cleaner analyses the photos you choose inside your own browser. The comparisons run on your device, and the photos are not uploaded to our servers. You do not need an account to scan. If you do create an account, only summary numbers such as how many photos were checked and how much space could be saved are kept, never the pictures or their file names.
You can read the details in our privacy policy, which also explains cookies and the way Google’s advertising works on this site.
A website cannot reach into your phone and delete things, and that is a safety feature as much as a limit. It cannot change your library behind your back. You get a list of suggestions and a cleaned download, and you decide what to remove in your own photos app.
Back up your best photos before any clean-up, delete in small batches, and check the recently-deleted area before you empty it. Do not share passwords with any cleaning service, and be cautious about apps that ask for access to everything. A careful routine keeps you safe even when a tool makes a mistake.
It is free, it runs in your browser, and nothing you choose is uploaded.
